It lacks any early warning of failure of react to load or really how to create the environment for the react app although the course explain how to install react but it don not prepare us for errors in installing react and it is not my first attempt. The same thing happen in the Reed Berger course it want install.

I am only on 45% of this course. And i think it is the best practical course on Java Spring + MySQL + React (TS). If you are feed up with theory and dont know how to implement your knowlage in real world, then this course is for You. + I recommend to create your own project at the the same time (to get more benefits from the course)

No explanation whatsoever while writing e.g. homepage. It feels like he is rewriting this code, just like I am, without understanding it. It is just like you found code on internet and you copy-paste it. It is the almost the same. Typescript part was fine. It was explained on examples and I had no trouble understanding typescript. To sum up, if you had no experience with web development you should not buy this course. It will be just very frustrating when you get no explanation on new topic.

Really disappointed!!! I really loved other courses by Chad. But first thing It is not taught by Chad (Till now I have watched 35% of the course). Note to Eric: Please first explain what you are going to do and how you are going to do. Even in the code please break it into parts and write comments to summerize the code. Writing whole code and then giving overview is really not helpful. Note to students: You should be knowing Spring boot, react, boot strap well to understand this. This is not at all a beginner React course, instructor will explain few topics very casually but it is not enough. It is really frustrating to search on your own after every few minutes "What does this line mean!!" I understand instructors would have put lot of effort creating this course, but really sorry It does not match your standard Chad.

As other said, the problem with this course is that a LOT of the time it's only typing a code that he does not explain. The "overview" videos are the only ones that explain stuff clearly. Luckily this is somehow a thing I wanted, a fast project to apply knowledge fast, and today with ChatGPT and other A.I ways to learn, you can learn the things he says. Also careful, the course is Old so the problem is you need to be EXTREMLY cautious with the dependencies and their version. I couldn't do the Security chapter because of that. If you have a problem, try reading the Q&A section. Many times other people had your problem and the solution is to go back to an older version of a depenency etc.

Generally the course is average. You get used to how to integrate and create frontend app with react typescript as well as creating a decent backend. I do believe that the frontend part could have done in other ways as this relies to much on and extensively use of useEffects. Also state management is done incorrectly. It could have been done in a more efficient/better way

I give this course a "5" (deserves multitudes more), and I thought it would be helpful to address a couple of the criticisms that I've seen in lower scores. Yes, Okta did change how their product works and now EU visitors can't register a new end user account; that's a bummer. BUT, the course still shows you the ins/outs of managing the tricky authorization between React-SB-Okta, and seemingly that can be readily refactored to work with Okta's new "customer-oriented" authorization product (Auth0, which Okta acquired: https://auth0.com/signup) . The other criticism I've seen is that one of the instructors spends too much time giving audio overview of the displayed code, rather than more thematic explanation; fair point, and based on the very explanatory Q/A responses that instructors continues to provide, I think it's something he's working to improve. In the meantime, if you take this course, you're getting a pretty-well explained "killer app" that you understand and can exploit in a million other directions. Tell me any course you find that shows you how to do: React... with bootstrap... built with Typescript... connecting to springBoot... connecting to MySQL, which collectively are connecting to Okta for authentication/authorization and enabling you to make/accept real-world payments via tight integration with Stripe.com.... I mean, wow, I can't even begin to imagine how long (if ever) it would take me to piece this all together on my own. Plus, the instructors give very helpful and timely support in the Q/A section. Wish I had found this course/instructor team ages ago.
