John tends to skip around, sometimes from page to page, sometimes renaming variables and this makes it hard to follow. He needs to write a script and follow it. He sometimes forgets to tell you that he created a new project for the new topics he's covering, and this can be confusing at times. He also tends to overemphasize some trivial details at times, but fails to explain the details of more complex concepts.

I enjoyed the course, it present everything that is possible to do with JSP even things that are not recommended such as SQL query within the JSP.

As usual John takes a complicated subject and breaks it down so that a novice (but very experienced software engr) Java programmer can understand. In the case of the web providers where the one he was using was discontinued I was able to understand what needed to be done to find one that I could use (in my case AWS)

Great course and John it a good tutor - speaks in calm, clear voice (not unimportant!) which imparts a good attitude towards learning java frameworks, I suppose. John, if you're reading this, I would enjoy a bit more theory backing in the earlier bits, i.e. what is JNDI other than 'the thing that you use to connect to DB', etc.

Some things could be explained a little bit further, and deeper. But very good overall. I would recommend basic web programming knowledge before taking it.

I like the content, but I sometimes find it difficult to follow along, because sometimes the tutor presents too many new concepts before diving into to the code. So it is hard to associate what I just heard with what I just saw in code. Otherwise, learning a lot here. thank you!

Great examples of jsp, jstl,and servlets... good the for beginner or for experienced people who should take the time to review the basics. Sometimes experienced people forget the basics.

Not the clearest instructor but this course provides a lot of really useful information on JSPs and servlets. Also he should mention that this is for PC. He does NOT give specific instructions for mac, users so the initial set up was slightly more challenging than it should have been.
