What you will learn

Create, query and update databases

Use triggers, views and stored procedures

Understand transactions and database isolation levels.

Understand database users and security.

Why take this course?

This course will take you from beginner in SQL and MySQL to an advanced level. Whether you're a complete beginner with only basic computer knowledge, or a professional who already uses MySQL but wants to understand advanced features like transactions, user permissions, triggers and stored procedures, this course can help you.

Database skills are highly in demand in the I.T. industry; everything from websites to multiplayer games are likely to make use of some kind of database.

MySQL is a free, industrial-strength relational database, very widely used all over the world. In fact, the MySQL Community Server (which this course covers to an advanced level) is the world's most popular open-source database, used by millions of websites.

Master Advanced MySQL Features, Starting from the Ground Up

In this course you'll begin by learning the basics of creating, querying and adding data to databases using SQL with MySQL. As the course progresses, we'll move on to advanced features, vital for getting the most out of MySQL, including transactions, indexes, isolation levels, views, triggers and stored procedures.

You'll learn how to create powerful and efficient databases using SQL, how to read and create EER diagrams, how to understand and implement table relationships like "many to many" and "one to many", and even how to design databases visually using the free MySQL Workbench client tool.

By the end of the course you'll understand MySQL's powerful features to a greater level than probably most professional software developers, and you'll have an understanding of SQL that will help you get to grips with any relational database. You'll be able to create and query your own databases and use transactions, stored procedures, constraints, indices, views and other features to ensure your database is efficient and secure.

This course has everything one wants to know as a beginner. It illustrates the important concepts of SQL and stored procedures in a very easy way. I had a good time learning about this course.

best part is that it focuses on the execution of the statements, stored procedures, performance, ACID, and many other critical decisions one needs to make.

The course is alright I guess, but the instructor is a super dumb guy. Really he is an idiot. He talks more than he needs to. He uses reserved words for table column names. Use the phrase "I guess" throughout the course. I mean, what an idiot. Also at the beginning of every video he will say, Hello this is John from cave of coding dot com. That is so annoying. I mean, I want to punch him.

The first 5 or 6 Sections are pretty good, after that it speed up the velocity of the course and it doesn't explain the subjects as well as you wanted to. Also the exercises are from random databases and tables and should have one database and after that apply all of the subjects to it, thats why it is very inconsistent. It has a lot of potencial but fails to deliver.

1) the resources are not well maintained and given. 2) the voice of instructor makes understanding the topic difficult. 3) the voice is kind of one sided when using headphones. 4) practical exercise should be given more often and with proper starting files

It'd be helpful if you walked us through the installation steps instead of saying "just google it"...

Tutor can include more concepts about the topic and not just how to do that particular thing. If possible overview about what exactly happening at the backend in the database/table level.

a total waste of money and time!! this is the worst course to have, the instructor didn't plan anything, many mistakes across the course, you have to ignore many things, naming conventions is all wrong - he himself mentioned many times that it is not best practice.
